Island hopping tour from Phu Quoc — crystal-clear waters and white-sand beaches of Hòn Mây Rút

The An Thoì archipelago — a cluster of 15 islands just off the southern tip of Phú Quôc — holds some of the clearest water and least-visited beaches in all of Vietnam. This full-day island hopping tour takes you to three of the best: Hòn Mây Rút Ngoài for white sand and drone photography, Hòn Mây Rút Trong for a fresh seafood lunch on the water, and Hòn Gàm Ghì for coral snorkeling. Here is everything you need to know before you go.

The Full-Day Itinerary

The day is well-paced — you never feel rushed at any stop, and there is plenty of time in the water. Here is the timeline:

The Three Islands Up Close

Stop 1

Hòn Mây Rút Ngoài (Outer Island)

HighlightLongest white-sand beach
Best forSwimming & photography
PropsHammocks, swings, SUP boards
PhotographyFilm camera & drone included

Hòn Mây Rút Ngoài is the photogenic star of the tour. The beach curves in a wide arc of powdery white sand backed by jungle. The water is shallow enough to wade far out, and the colour ranges from pale jade near the shore to deep blue further out. The tour guide is experienced with photography — they will shoot you with a film (analogue) camera and also operate the drone for aerial shots. If you want to lie on a SUP board for a top-down Flycam shot, this is your moment.

Stop 2

Hòn Mây Rút Trong (Inner Island)

HighlightClearest blue water
Best forLunch & swimming
Meal8-dish fresh seafood
Water colourVivid turquoise

The inner island is where the group stops for lunch, and the setting does not disappoint. The water here is arguably the most vivid of the day — a luminous turquoise that looks almost unreal in the midday light. The seafood lunch covers eight dishes and is included in the tour price. After eating, there is free time to swim before boarding the boat to the final stop.

Stop 3

Hòn Gàm Ghì — Coral Snorkeling

HighlightHealthy coral reef
Best forSnorkeling, marine life
GearLifejacket & mask provided
WaterExceptionally clear

Hòn Gàm Ghì (also called Hòn Dãm Ngang) is the snorkeling highlight of the day. The visibility here is excellent — you can see the coral clearly from the surface before you even put your mask on. Fish are abundant. Lifejackets and snorkeling masks are included in the tour price, so you do not need to bring your own gear or have any prior experience. The guide will help non-swimmers feel comfortable in the water.

Pricing & What’s Included

Base tour price From 700,000 VND / person
Holiday surcharge Prices vary on public holidays
Optional add-ons ~1,000,000+ VND / person

The base price includes: free hotel pickup and drop-off, a bilingual tour guide, speedboat transfers between islands, fruit and drinks on the boat, the 8-dish seafood lunch, lifejacket and snorkeling mask, and professional photography with both a film camera and drone (Flycam).

Optional activities that cost extra (around 1,000,000 VND or more per person depending on the activity) include seawalking (walking on the ocean floor with a helmet), parasailing, jet-ski, and inflatable water toys. These can be booked directly on the day at the islands.

What to Pack

Footwear Bring sandals or flip-flops — you’ll be moving between boats, sand, and rocky areas.
Sun protection Sunscreen, a hat, and UV-protective clothing. The island sun is intense, especially on the open boat.
Swimwear You’ll be in and out of the water multiple times — a quick-dry swimsuit is ideal.
Cash Bring extra cash if you plan to try optional add-ons like seawalking or parasailing on the day.

About Ngọc Hiền Pearl Farm

The tour begins with a stop at Ngọc Hiền Pearl, one of Phú Quôc’s most established pearl producers. You can watch staff carefully open oysters and extract pearls, and learn about how saltwater pearls are cultivated in the clear waters around the island. The farm also displays a range of jewellery and historical artefacts. It is a genuine and interesting stop — not just a shopping detour.
